In 2004, For Swimming, Inc. was formed to address the critical need for a year-round pool open to the entire Rockbridge Community. We proposed, at that point, to build a 25-yard pool covered by a dome and heated during the winter months. After two years of intensive fundraising and navigating the myriad levels of city and county government cooperation and approval, we broke ground in June of 2006.

FOR Swimming, Inc
is a non-profit organization formed to foster charitable causes and provide support, and educational opportunities and benefits for high school, youth and adult swim teams, as well as fitness and therapy swimming for all Rockbridge County citizens.
Throughout the summer we watched as the project we had envisioned for so long slowly took shape.
As the pool began to take shape and the dome design evolved, we realized that the pool house, which we had seen as a future Phase III, was actually an integral part of the complete project.Without it, the community would not have the aesthetically pleasing, first-class facility we were striving for. And so, having raised enough money for the pool and dome, we began the "Raise the Roof " Campaign to fund the pool house.
And this is where we are now — very close to being open.

The dome will arrive this week. The last of the duct work is being installed. Asati will send their technician to oversee the first raising of the dome as soon as we call and tell them we are ready.

The pool will be open soon, but the locker rooms and other areas await the funds needed to complete them.
